Welcome to the Northeast Hurricanes Basketball Organization's web site.
The 2008 season will bring significant change to the program as we begin
to nourish the technology growth in youth sports throughout the world
and the demand to provide a positive basketball experience for those athletes
who have the commitment, desire and ability to excel in the sport.
This web site provides information about our basketball program and answers
many of the general questions that you may have about our organization.
Our Program
The Northeast Hurricanes Basketball Organization founded in 1973 has enjoyed
the reputation for being the Greater North Shore's largest AAU and YBOA
youth basketball program.
In the early 1990’s we pioneered many leading initiatives locally
and nationally. As concerns grew regarding the safety of our children;
we took progressive action by introducing CORI and Sex Offender background
checks of all coaches and adults involved with our program. We were one
of the first clubs to provide open tournaments to local town teams, clubs
and associations.
We are extremely proud of our roll in reaching out to all players selected
to a team regardless of their ability to commit due to financial constraints.
Our program has provided financial scholarships to hundreds of players
and teams.
Since 1973 we have been positioned with the two most prestigious programs
offered in Basketball today: Youth Basketball Organization of America
(YBOA) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) . Both programs provide basketball
at multiple levels of competition (A, B and C).
Today we have selected a third premier program: The Max Hoops Basketball
Network. Founded by former coaches and professionals, this program allows
open participation to any and all programs and offers low cost insurance
for players, teams, coaches and officials, as well as, mandatory coach’s
certification courses providing minimum standards for the age and level
of play they coach.
Our program takes pride in its structured developmental approach to teaching
quality basketball to each and every age group and level of player. Each
player will learn the fundamentals of physical and mental development
as we introduce the benefits of Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) and Cybernetics
to each and every player, therefore, improving their level of confidence,
self-esteem and physical skills.
The Northeast Hurricanes Program in conjunction with Max Hoops will continue
to set the standard for youth basketball, offering our players the most
comprehensive program in the Greater North Shore area featuring quality
coaching, mini camps, clinics led by prestigious college coaches, intense
team practices, and individual instruction.
It is fair to note that The Northeast Hurricanes Program has had several
teams represented at AAU State and National tournaments. Many of our teams
have captured state titles and finished in the top 25 at Junior Nationals
tournaments.
Our program has had a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of players,
socially, mentally, emotionally, physically and has influenced their futures
by experiencing the trials and tribulations of winning, losing, humility,
confidence, self discipline, independence, unity, and humanity.
Now, due to the technology evolution we have access to many great tools.
The competition to provide immediate gratification through developmental
instruction is at an all time high. We are in the process of bringing
many new and currently cutting edge web tools for all to enjoy.
In correlation with these tools we will provide one of the most comprehensive
customer service programs available to our members.
